Six Mile Cypress Slough (slew)

Six Mile Cypress Slough is only about five miles from our condo in Ft. Myers. A slough (slew) is a deep water swamp where trees can't grow as dense as a forest. This enables a greater variety of habitat. Birds, gators, bobcats, snakes, turtles and many other creatures are viewable from the boardwalk.
Twelve foot alligator at last! Once they reach this length, they then get fatter.
Took this photo with a very long lens.

White Ibis has wonderful legs and beak for deep water eating.

This is really roughing it.:)))

Terrorist turtle sneak attack on a great blue heron.

Discovered just in time.
